Rock mechanics is the field that studies the mechanical behavior of rock and rock masses esp, their strength, elasticity, permeability, porosity, density, and stress reaction. Rock mechanics is closely related to geology and is applied in mining, tunneling, petroleum and civil engineering practice. Basically rock mechanics is concerned with the application of the principles of engineering mechanics to the design of rock structures. In this section related publications for rock mechanics are provided.
